Born and raised in a cornfield outside Syracuse, New York, Corinne Loperfido studied graphic design and art history at The College of Saint Rose in Albany, NY. Growing up in a very rural area without much to do, she was often left to her own creative devices and spent most of her time drawing and sewing. After taking several technical drawing classes in college, she went on to develop her own unique style that employes fine line detail and the use of subtle, dusty colors. Most of her work is done with pencil, fine-tip pens, prismacolor markers, and watercolor on paper. Hand embroidery is a method that she frequently employs.

She is always exploring new mediums and taking different approaches in her work and does not feel tied down to one particular style or concept. Making art is a constantly evolving process for her and Corinne allows herself to go down any path that inspires her, never stopping because it doesn't "fit in" with the rest of her work. Inspiration is usually found in antique ephemera and postcards, images of empowered women, and in the art of comics. Her focus is on capturing the nuances of her subject with fine line detail and textural pattern.
